I think the graphics update will bring old players and new players to anarchy online when it arrives, do we have any launch date in mind for this or how far along it is as i'm excited to see this to, i know graphics aren't the be all of everything but if something looks good and is easy on the eyes then people tend to play it more but it's important to have depth to the game which AO delivers and keeps us here playing.
Though like people have said there's to much money in AO and not much of a good way to earn the credits needed to buy decent enough items as you start off, i was once low a low level who farm T1 and T2 then chosen for my character and to sell to make money, I don't really see many Trade skillers about these days as it's to much of a sacrafice to PVM/PVP and not enough money for an engineer trader or anyone who has the perks and items available to their proffession to make decent money compared to going to a city raid and looting supple!!
So what i propose is that you give everyone the chance to specialise in tradeskills... as i said above no engineer or trader makes good money from the tradeskill toolset they have so make it a requirement for all proffessions.. but give engineer or traders a special expertise in certain tradeskills... what i would like to see is something similiar to wow or AOC the ability to mine raw materials that level up on the amount you mine and the harder areas you mine them from! let their be tradeskillers who can turn raw materials into crafted items in the same way, and then turn the crafted materials into items or add them to stuff, such as weapons armours stim kits you would have to learn recipes to turn raw materials into crafted items, and also to make crafted items to armours stims or weapons..
Why go down this route? well why not it would be a good balance to the economy people could and would make a living income and it's an extra to the game that i'm sure people would welcome... what's so fun about tradeskills now 50% maybe higher or lower of the items that are used in game to upgrade armours/weapons can be added by none tradeskill proffessions which make engineer or trader a none requirement anyway.
These tadeskills can be reset at the cost of losing your skills in them that you raised using them, you could have 2 tradeskills of choice but remember that engineer and trader would have extra benefits in them to keep them top tradeskillers which they deserve, also add a tadeskill trade option so that you can have nodrops or precious items upgraded by another person who specialises in that trade skill area modify the item without been able to ninja it, open trade them, then add crafted items etc to the item, you trade credits for the agreeable amount at the same time you have this trade skill trade window open and all is good.
Just think of the possiblities the extra items that could be added into the game, the extra pvm fun the extra way to make money and better economy, something new something balanced something you could improve on and make your own!.
ps also i love pvp and enjoy things been balanced which is only fair, i just think you guys should make more time for the game to expand it bring in new players add more content to it, rather than keep us moaning players happy about our proffessions.
